Biography
Ms. Dorothea Lockhart serves as of counsel to the Firm’s Business Immigration Team.
Ms. Lockhart focuses on employment-based and high-net-worth-individual (“HNWI”) immigration. She has over 20 years of experience handling business and employment-based immigration matters for companies engaged in major sectors of the U.S. economy, including the chemical, insurance, pharmaceutical, food, education, transportation, information technology, satellite, energy, and construction industries.
Ms. Lockhart represents clients in immigration petitions for the acquisition, transfer or retention of talented foreign nationals, including multinational executives and managers, intracompany transferees, artists, art directors, musicians, professors, research scientists, individuals serving important national interests, and professionals in a wide variety of fields. Ms. Lockhart also provides counsel to companies in I-9 compliance, PAF compliance, and planning for the immigration impact of mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Lockhart regularly represents clients in the following nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories: EB-1A for Individuals of Extraordinary Ability in the Sciences, Arts, Education, Business or Athletics; EB-1B for Outstanding Professors and Researchers; EB-1C for Multinational Executives and Managers; EB-2/National Interest Waiver for Advanced degree professionals; L-1A and L-1B for Intracompany Transferees; O-1A Visa for Individuals with Extraordinary Ability in the Sciences, Education, Business, or Athletics; O-1B for individuals with Extraordinary Ability in the Arts; TN NAFTA Professionals; H-1B Specialty Occupation.
Ms. Lockhart received her J.D. degree from New York University Law School and her B.A. degree from St. Augustine’s College.
